Tissue Culture

Tissue culture mayhaw trees are developed from a given mayhaw cultivar through tissue culture lab procedure. Trees are identified by the cultivar from which the tissue (cells) were harvested from. Tree height may vary but generally should be one to two feet in height. The lab technology used in producing these trees have been documented and it is anticipated these trees will be representative of the respective cultivar it was developed from. For mayhaws this is a newly emerging application of tissue culturing and field production results are not yet available.
